Announcing new mayoral candidate in Ottawa

August 21, 2010

“Let’s face it. After the example that has been set since 2006, it is not much of a reach that a Pug could do a better job as mayor than the current human.”

– Anonymous Concerned Citizen, August 21, 2010

How did Cleo come to power?

At the 2010 Annual General Meeting of Pugs (AGMP), a motion was tabled and unanimously approved that Cleo enter the 2010 Ottawa election as a candidate for mayor. Never before have pugs united on a political issue. The video that follows shows elaborate and complex debate according to Pug’s Rules of Disorder.

As is obvious from the video, Pugs are a committed, and passionate species. Debates can be very personal and in your butt affairs! But Cleo’s approach, political strategy, and ability to appeal to a wide range of Pugs and persons secured the consensus of the voting members. Through blogging, Tweeting, Facebook organizing, and Flickr, Cleo hopes to participate, capture and document her journey to be mayor of Ottawa. And look at the diversity of colour! Much needed at our City Council. Cleo has my vote and should her handlers need a place to poster and distribute campaign literature then After Stonewall will happily turn it’s windows over to the newest Candidate!

She’s better looking than our current mayor. And looks count!
